"Princella cleared up a lot of my confusion on some new media-such as Twitter and YouTube. She not only explained clearly, but she gave examples of how we can put this information to use. I'm excited to really use this in my political activism and personal life as well. Thank you!!"
Charlene Bybee - Reno, NV ETN Seminar
"This was an excellent class. I learned so much, and I no longer feel like I'm too old to be in the loop for all these new websites...Oh, excuse me. The term is 'new media'. Ha!"
Kim Bacchus - Reno, NV ETN Seminar

About ETN

The Inspiration for Engage the Nation

In recent years, many concerned citizens have felt left out of the technological storm that swept the political world and staked its claim on issue advocacy. The new trends in communications have left a vacuum for those who wanted to get their message out but were unable to disseminate their message as quickly as those who had mastered technological skill.

Our Mission

Engage the Nation is a non-profit organization committed to empowering citizens to protect their liberties by teaching them to embrace the evolution of new media's revolution. Engage the Nation trainers pursue this mission by conducting "Spread the Word" seminars across the country for activists of all ages and all generations instructing them about use of new media as an invigorating method of sharing their opinions and organizing to improve their communities.

The essence of this goal is expressed through Engage the Nation's three core beliefs: Invite, Engage, and Promote on Principle. Engage the Nation trainers emphasize the notion that new media is not solely for young people but for members of all generations to spread the word.

Why We Will Win

Engage the Nation will succeed because our definition of victory is to create a new generation of leaders not defined by age but by the desire, will, and determination to stamp new media as the most efficient tool to for transforming old school grassroots into "netroots".  Engage the Nation does not deny the effectiveness of fundamental grassroots principles, but we believe that in order for any movement, organization, or group to achieve success in the current environment of 24/7 news cycles and up-to-the minute cyberspace updates, a genuine and thorough knowledge of new media is no longer optional. It is necessary.

By training activists all over the country, Engage the Nation empowers individuals and organizations through step-by-step/how-to "Spread the Word" seminars on applying blogs, the internet, site-building, e-mail lists, social networking sites, and other cyber abilities to the communications aspect of their projects.
